1. Host: NKDB (Database Center for North Korean Human Rights)

2. Lecturers: Domestic experts on North Korean human rights (professors and NGO activists) and North Korean defectors

3. Target: the general public and universities with an interest in North Korean human rights; human rights organizations, workers and activists; defectors; the press, etc.

4. Period: September 17, 2014 – December 3, 2014 (12 weeks)

5. Hours: Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (Lecture will begin on September)

6. Location/Venue:

The Pacific Era Committee Seminar Room

Jinsol Building 2nd floor 

Seodaemun Daesindong 115-9, Seoul

7. Selection method: Selecting approximately 50 applicants on a first come, first served basis:  document screening, followed by individual notification of acceptance

8. Procedures for Applying: Download the application from NKDB’s homepage and submit it through email (nkdbi@hanmail.net)

9. Fee: 100,000 won (graduate students and the general public) / 50% discount for undergraduate students and NGO workers/ free for North Korean defectors

10: Other: NKDB Academy offers: participation certificates for those that complete two-thirds of the 12-week course; invitations to participate in NKDB events; an opportunity to become an intern on a priority basis; and lecture related books
