[Event]NKDB Director of International Cooperation Presents to NATO Parliamentary Assembly Members

On October 19th, NKDB Director of International Cooperation, Hanna Song, presented to members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) during a meeting hosted at the French Embassy in Seoul. Director Song shared the work that NKDB carries out, with particular attention paid to the human rights conditions of the North Korean military, outlined in the NKDB publication Prisoners in Military Uniform: Human Rights in the North Korean Military. Along with representatives of other North Korean human rights organizations operating in South Korea, Director Song emphasized the ways in which human rights are intertwined with security, and how the human rights factor should be considered when making decisions that affect the security situation on the Korean Peninsula.
