NKDB does more than just documentation and  research on North Korean human rights, we provide direct assistance to victims of torture and other gross human rights violations. Since 2014, NKDB has been a proud recipient of the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture. 

On October 24, NKDB's counsellors, social workers and interns organised a trip to Nami-island with our resilient survivors and their family members to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage, enjoy a pottery class and just get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Healing Camps serve as a group counseling method, where participants are able to connect with others through sharing their experiences and more about their lives while taking part in social activities to assist them with the resettlement process in South Korea.
