On May 14, 2026, the Database Center for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) convened a private briefing, welcoming diplomats from 9 countries, partners from International Organizations and foreign correspondents. The briefing served as a vital cooperative platform to reinforce international solidarity and address critical, evolving developments in the North Korean human rights landscape.

Executive Director Hanna Song gave a specialized tour of the Her Day in North Korea exhibition. The exhibition is part of NKDB’s holistic accountability efforts, by providing a space for memorialization and truth-telling NKDB’s exhibition offered participants a profound, multi-dimensional look into the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Following the tour, Human Rights Analyst Dong-hwi Shin delivered an in-depth presentation uncovering the systemic violations associated with the forced repatriation policies led by the Chinese government. Furthermore, NKDB utilized the briefing to preview its pioneering, soon-to-be-released digital platform designed to modernize human rights documentation access. Through this strategic engagement, NKDB continues to advance global accountability by equipping international policymakers and the press with rigorous, evidence-based data.
