The Database Center for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) was established in 2003 for the sake of improving North Korean Human Rights, and in 2007 established the North Korean Human Rights Archive which has been collecting, analyzing, and preserving the cases of human rights violations.

Since the establishment of the COI (Commission of Inquiry) on Human Rights in the DPRK at the 22nd UNHRC (the United Nations Human Rights Council), the interestand desire for information on North Korean human rights has increased internationally. As such, NKDB decided to hold a ‘monthly briefing and discussion of North Korean human rights’ to actively supply information and data on the status of human rights inNorth Korea.
