Earlier this year, NKDB successfully concluded its North Korean Human Rights Academy 101. Over the course of several weeks, participants engaged in interactive sessions led by experienced practitioners, researchers, and advocates working in the field of North Korean human rights.
Through lectures and Q&A sessions, participants explored topics such as political prison camps, family separation, escapee integration, transitional justice, and the international human rights framework. These sessions not only deepened their understanding of the challenges facing North Korean escapees, but also highlighted the broader context and importance of human rights advocacy. At the end of the program, all students who completed the course received a certificate acknowledging their participation and commitment.
