On June 25–26, NKDB participated in a public testimony session held at the Seoul Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). During the session, North Korean human rights victims bravely shared their stories with the international community.
To ensure that the voices of victims were heard safely and respectfully, NKDB provided on-site emotional support with the presence of a professional psychological counselor. This accompaniment helped create a secure space where survivors could testify about human rights violations they endured or witnessed.
These testimonies are expected to serve as a critical foundation for future UN human rights reports and policy discussions on North Korea.
This session reaffirmed the importance of documenting lived experiences and amplifying survivor voices in the global human rights arena.
