On June 20th, NKDB's Resettlement Assistance Headquarters attended the opening ceremony of the Prisoner of War (POW) Zone exhibition at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
This exhibition is special as it reveals parts of the 'Oral History Project of Repatriated POWs' which NKDB conducted with the Ministry of Defense over 13 years ago. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and photo session with 8 of the 9 surviving repatriated veterans took place, followed by a tour of the exhibition. The veterans explored various historical artifacts and watched a commemorative video created from their testimonies.
The POW Zone is now a permanent exhibition at the War Memorial of Korea, where visitors can find storybooks published by NKDB detailing the veterans' experiences. NKDB remains committed to honoring and supporting these veterans, documenting the human rights situation of POWs, and raising awareness about those who have not yet been repatriated. ๐ฐ๐ทโจ
