On January 30 and 31st, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the DPRK Elizabeth Salmón, held a closed-door conference focusing on the rights of women and girls in the DPRK. NKDB alongside other members of civil society, victims and academia took part in the conference to discuss the state of various issues women from North Korea face.

NKDB was invited to present our findings on menstrual health in North Korea on a panel on sexual and reproductive health and domestic violence. (The report can be downloaded from NKDB's website). Menstrual health & sexual and reproductive health and rights is an important determinant for the realisation of all women and girls in all their diversity.

NKDB looks forward to working with the Special Rapporteur in exploring practical ways to advance women rights with a victims-centered approach.
