This report that was presented during the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, highlights the essential role played by civil society organizations like NKDB in documenting serious human rights violations in North Korea and advocating for justice and accountability.

With over 87,000 individual cases recorded in its database, NKDB continues to provide critical data and testimony to support memory preservation and transitional justice efforts.

The recognition by OHCHR underscores the significance of NKDB’s long-standing efforts to support victims and survivors of human rights abuses and to ensure that their voices are heard in international forums.
