On March 21, 2024, the North Korean Database Center (NKDB) launched its 24th season of the North Korean Human Rights Academy, scheduled to convene every Thursday until May 21, 2024. The same week, NKDB inaugurated two other academies: the 9th Unification Social Welfare Academy, which convenes every Tuesday, and the 18th Unification Diplomacy Academy, scheduled for every Monday.

The Academy’s programs aim to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted issues surrounding the human rights debate in North Korea. During the upcoming weeks, North Korean escapees and other distinguished speakers are given the platform to share their firsthand experiences and expertise.

With the start of the NKDB’s academical program, on March 18, 2024, Dr. Heung Ahn Moon, Emeritus Professor of the Konkuk University, took on his new position as the Director of NKDB’s Education Center, greeting this time’s participants warmly throughout the week.

NKDB extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their keen interest and enthusiasm towards our programs. We wish everyone a rewarding and enjoyable journey as we come together to engage in discussions, learn, and evolve together!
