On June 7, NKDB was honored to visit the French Embassy for a special occassion.
Since 2021 NKDB and the French Embassy have been working together to empower young North Korean escapees with scholarships to pursue their studies in the ROK. This year, 3 university students from North Korea and 8 children of victims of human trafficking and torture were provided scholarships. Despite diverse backgrounds, they share a common determination to learn and grow.
NKDB would like to say 'Un grand merci' to the French Embassy for their trust and dedication on human rights in the Korean peninsula. We also want to express our gratitude to Philippe Bertoux, the French Ambassador, for inviting us to his residence.
