On April 11, 2023, the Database Center for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) and the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) submitted to the United Nations (UN) Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) a joint report for the upcoming review of the situation of women’s rights in China. The review will be held on 12 May 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Joint FIDH-NKDB report focuses on the situation of North Korean women in China. It underscores their lack of legal status and protection and their vulnerability to trafficking and forced marriages.
