For 12 consecutive years, from 2014 to 2025, NKDB’s support program for victims of torture has been selected for funding by the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVFVT).
The UNVFVT is a humanitarian fund of the United Nations that supports the rehabilitation and healing of victims of torture. Thanks to this continued support, NKDB’s Resettlement Assistance Headquarters has been able to offer psychological counseling and recovery programs for North Korean escapees.
Through this program, NKDB has helped individuals who endured trauma, torture, and persecution to adapt more stably to life in South Korea and to begin the long journey toward healing. NKDB is always here, standing beside them on the path toward recovery.
