The 25th session of NKDB’s Monthly Briefing and Discussion on North Korean Human Rights took place on October 27th. The event was hosted by the Australian Embassy in Seoul which kindly provided NKDB with its conference facility. NKDB invited Mr. Moo-jin Ha, the Director of the Separated Families and Humanitarian Cooperation Division at the ROK Ministry of Unification, to speak about the recently convened family reunions in North Korea. At the Briefing participants received more detailed information about the current state of separated families on the peninsula, the ROK and DPRK policies concerning the issue, as well as future prospects for resolution of the problem. Representative of foreign missions in Seoul took part in the Briefing, including the Embassies of Australia, Finland, Italy, Norway, the Slovak Republic, Brazil as well as UN OHCHR and the UNHCR officers in ROK.
