On Thursday, June 2, 2022, NKDB held its 65th Monthly Briefing and Discussion on North Korean Human Rights. This month, given the North Korean government's recent admission of a COVID-19 outbreak within their borders, NKDB's Hanna Song gave a brief presentation on the status of the healthcare system within North Korea, followed by a question and answer session with a North Korean escapee who had worked as a doctor while living in North Korea. Through the presentation and Q/A session, those in attendance gained a greater understanding of North Korea's capacity to handle the outbreak of COVID within the country, as well as the the overall state of healthcare within the country.
