[Event]Sept 2: In the Absence of Space, Memory Weakens – The Need for a North Korean Human Rights Museum

After a two-year break, the Database Center for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) is proud to host a seminar on the creation of a North Korean Human Rights Museum.

🔹 Our first seminar in October 2023 emphasized the importance of a physical space to preserve memory of human rights violations in North Korea while inspiring concrete action.
🔹 Since then, NKDB has continued operating its Exhibition Hall in Seoul and studied international museum models in Germany, South Africa, Geneva, and the U.S.—learning how museums can move beyond exhibitions to engage citizens, foster dialogue, and promote remembrance.
🔹 Grounded in universal human values, our work is independent of political agendas and focused on dignity and rights.
This upcoming seminar will explore how civil society can play a unique role in creating a space that honors memory, educates the public, and mobilizes action.
