The Database Center for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB) is a Seoul-based civil society organization with UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, established in 2003 to advance truth, justice, and accountability for North Korean human rights. We conduct in-depth research on human rights conditions in North Korea, build and manage the largest database of North Korean human rights violations, lead international advocacy, and shape policy recommendations. Beyond documentation and research, we are actively pursuing legal and non-legal accountability and remedies for victims.

๐ Open Positions
1. Senior Researcher (์ฐ๊ตฌ์์)
- Investigate and research North Korean human rights violations; author reports
- Conduct research on accountability mechanisms and expand domestic/international networks and partnerships
- Oversee project management
Qualifications:
- PhD (or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant research experience) in Law, International Studies, or a related field
- Fluent English preferred
2. Researcher โ Human Rights & Analysis Team (์ฐ๊ตฌ์, ์กฐ์ฌ๋ถ์ํ)
- Investigate and analyze North Korean human rights violations; contribute to regular/ad hoc publications
- Support research on accountability mechanisms
- Domestic and international partnership coordination
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Law, International Studies, or a related field
- Fluent English preferred
3. Researcher โ International Team (์ฐ๊ตฌ์, ๊ตญ์ ํ)
- Investigate and analyze North Korean human rights violations; contribute to regular/ad hoc publications
- Support research on accountability mechanisms
- International partnership and cooperation duties
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher
- Prior international work experience

๐ผ Compensation & Benefits
1. Salary: Negotiable after interview
2. 4 major insurances, retirement pension provided
3. 1-year contract (including 3-month probation), with conversion to full-time based on performance review
4. Work schedule: 5 days/week (MonโFri), 8-hour flexible working hours (start time 8โ10 AM)
5. Graduate school scholarship program for staff with 3+ years of tenure, long-service awards, EAP counseling support, Culture Day, and more
