On September 19, people who are interested in and dream about Korean unification, just as in the lyrics of the song “Our Wish is Unification”, gathered at Hankyoreh Education and Culture Center in Sinchon, Seoul for the opening ceremony of the 4th Unification and Diplomacy Academy.

Jai Chun Lee, a former South Korean ambassador to Russia, opened the Academy with welcoming remarks and encouraged students to be the generation that brings about Korean unification. Also, Yeo Sang Yoon, the Chief Director of NKDB’s North Korean Human Rights Archives, gave a lecture on the importance of unification diplomacy. In the lecture, he emphasized that we have to diligently demonstrate to the international community our determination and ability to overcome the division of the two Koreas and embark on a unification strategy by the means of ‘diplomacy.’
