Last Monday, Oct. 24th, the chairman of the Unification and Diplomacy Academy Jai-chun Lee held a lecture entitled “Shedding New Light on South Korea-Russia relations for Unification Diplomacy". Sharing a long history with the Korean peninsula, Mr. Lee described the crucial role that Russia plays for the reunification of both Koreas, and thus the importance for South Korea to cooperate with its large neighbor. In particular, given the current circumstances in East Asia, building positive relations with Russia will enable South Korea to strengthen its position in the international arena.
For the next lecture on Oct. 31st, Sook Kim, the former South Korean Ambassador to the UN, will speak about “the UN and the North Korean nuclear issue”.
