On Friday, October 22, the Special Rapporteur for on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea delivered a report to the United Nations General Assembly to provide an update on the human rights situation in North Korea, particularly regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, political prison camps, freedom of religion, and the rights of children. NKDB is happy to share that the 2020 White Paper on Religious Freedom in North Korea was cited regarding the number of religious officials present inside the country, demonstrating the continued utility of the research done at NKDB regarding religious freedom in the DPRK.
