On November 16, UPI covered the opening of the North Korean Human Rights Museum in downtown Seoul, featuring an exhibition titled "The Echo Never Stops." Curated by NKDB, the exhibition sheds light on North Korea's suppression of freedom of expression through art, archives, and documentaries. It displays items, including smuggled leaflets and radios used by North Koreans to access foreign broadcasts, along with artworks by escapee artists. The exhibit aims to make North Koreans' struggles relatable to the general public in the country by showing artifacts such as a diary from an escapee filled with positive affirmations about the Kim family and the regime. The initiative seeks to depoliticize North Korean human rights issues in South Korea, transcending political divides.
